Mercs AMG GT C Roadster Reviews

Hello friends,
Today 'Gear Shift' have come with complete review of all new Mercedes New edition AMG GT C Roadster 2017.Lets see what is there inside the hood and whether you buy this sports car or not........

Now Lets See What Is There Inside The Hood......

In brief, the Roadster is that the new drop-top version of the Mercedes-AMG GT that was obtainable solely in coupé type to date. It uses a material roof that may be raised/lowered in mere 11sec at accelerates to 50kph. The Roadster conjointly happens to be our introduction to the updated GT vary. There area unit many style changes common to all or any GTs, additional power from the 4.0 -litre engine and even additional versions on supply.
The revised GT family is identifiable by the new ‘Panamericana’ grille whose vertical bars function a visible link to Mercedes’ Carrera Panamericana race cars of the fifties. Once there's no would like for added cooling, the louvres keep shut to cut back drag.
As for the 4.0 -litre bi-turbo V8, it’s been worked on for additional power. On the quality GT, it currently makes 469hp and 630Nm (up 13hp and 30Nm), whereas on the GT S it's been uprated to 515hp and 671Nm (up 12hp and 30Newton metres).

What’s it wish to drive?

First, slightly concerning the roof. The three-layer cloth roof absorbs noise quite well. It’s ne'er completely quietwithin the cabin however you won’t got to raise your voice to converse together with your co-passenger a minimum of at average city speeds. Lowering the roof, though, will increase noise levels over expected. there's a wind device on the rear sill however there’s still many bump within the cabin even at cruising pace. depress on the throttle with zestfulness, though, and it’s the engine that you’ll hear loud and clear. The note from the V8 is low-pitched with pops and crackles on the overrun.
And after all, this can be a quick automobile. The GT C is fiercely fast to make speed and launch you onto the incorrect facet of the regulation while not even attempting too onerous. Its twin turbos appeared armed and prepared in the slightest degree times; there’s no lag and delivery is systematically sturdy for the duration of the rev vary. you only don’t expertise that typical turbo automobile pause between commands at the throttle being dead at the rear wheels. Sure, this can be the additional powerful GT C however I don’t suppose the India-bound GT would be abundant slower. Mercedes-AMG claims a 0-100kph time of 3.7sec for the GT C Roadster and four.0sec for the GT Roadster. Do note the GT Roadsters, with edge weights on top of 1.6 tonnes, aren't any lightweights. automobile to Roadster, the GT has gained 50kg due to the material roof and extra bracing to catch up on the loss of rigidity on account of the roof. The GT Roadster's metallic element body is stiffened with thicker sill components, a further dashboard support and a replacement metallic element cross-member integrated into the rear partition that supports mounted roll-over bars.
On the sleek roads around Phoenix, Arizona within the USA, we have a tendency to didn’t expertise any of that scuttle shake that's characteristic of convertibles. What the GT are like on the pockmarked roads outside Phoenix Mills, Mumbai is what we’ll have to see in the future. In general, the ride did feel a bit firm, though the GT C’s standard adjustable dampers did help take a bit of the edge away.
As mentioned, the GT C comes with rear-wheel steering. At speeds up to 100kph, the rear wheels turn in the opposite direction of the front wheels for added agility and at speeds above 100kph, the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the ones in front for enhanced stability. And the system does its work really well. On twisty canyon roads, the GT C felt smaller and tighter than we remember the GT S Coupe. There’s no getting around the sheer width of the GT but the rear-wheel steer helps place the car through corners with more clarity. There’s also tremendous grip out of the corners with the electronically controlled limited-slip differential feeding just the right amount of power to the wheels. The GT C’s steering is quick too and seemed more nuanced than the GT S Coupe’s rack that was a bit too sharp just off-centre.

Should You buy This Car Or Not........

What’s clear is the AMG GT Roadsters are more than just boulevard cruisers. Fast, seductive and really engaging to drive, the AMG GT Roadster is an incredibly desirable package, even in the small club of all-out roadsters. But expect to pay big bucks for Merc’s powerhouse. The AMG GT Roadster goes on sale in India this November and will cost in the region of Rs 2.5 crore (estimated, ex-showroom).

Mercedes E220D Reviews

Mercedes E220D Reviews
Hello Friends,
Today in 'Gear Shift' has complete review of all new Mercedes E200d 2017 car. Lets check it out what's there inside the hood and figure it out wether you should buy this car or not......

How Its Like To Drive ?

It might be the ‘old’ engine, however six cylinders square measure invariably progressing to provides a drum sander power delivery than four and therefore the E 350 d could be a classic case in purpose. Wherever the E 220 d shows slight discontent underneath load with its gritty audio recording, the V6 revels in being asked to muster its most pull power.
It’s what quantity further twisted there's over the four-cylinder that’s maybe most compelling. You barely got to labour the engine, even throughout quite spirited driving, and therefore the V6 links very well with the 9G-Tronic transmission. The nine-speed ‘gear box appears resolute on keeping the revs below a pair of 5000 rpm in mild driving, that suits this engine simply fine.
The substantial further weight of the V6 engine has done very little to hurt the Merc’s handling. It’s much more happier in its role of a junior S-class, to which it owes its grand looks and lavish interiors.
With that in mind, the one snag is a ride that’s too easily flummoxed by potholes and recessed drain covers. The E 350 d seemed noticeably more bothered by such hurdles than the E 220 d we tried with the same Air Body Control suspension on the same Portuguese roads. High-speed comfort is tough to knock, though; there’s just enough laziness in the air chambers to smooth over motorway ripples without any unwelcome wallow over larger undulations.

Should You Buy Tis Car ?

Chances are you won’t and we can’t really blame you. On merit, the E 350 d is probably the best version of the new E-class we’ve tried, but it’s tricky to justify the 25 percent premium it commands over the E 220 d. Even though you do get a few more gadgets to go with the extra power and torque.
Look at  this in a way: that the E 350 d will undoubtedly be an expensive E-class, but when it comes to performance and engine refinement, if perhaps not quite ride comfort, it’s actually closer to the imperious S-class. From that standpoint, this range-topping E-class seems somewhat easier to justify.
